As a community supported organization, Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area exists because of the generosity, dedication, and compassion of our volunteers. Whether you are interested in volunteering in our hospice care or bereavement programs, working outside in our hospice garden, or giving a few hours a week to work in the resale shop, we would love to have you as a volunteer!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Hospice Care Volunteers provide direct support to our clients and their families, such as companionship visits, respite care, help with errands, life review and assistance with hobbies and crafts. Following a 24-hour training program, volunteers receive ongoing supervision and continuing education. Our next training will be offered in Fall 2023.
For more information about Hospice Direct Care Volunteers, please contact Kayla Coffin at kcoffin@hvwa.org or call (207) 873-3615, extension 19.
Our Bereavement Care Volunteers facilitate our grief support groups for adults as well as provide one-on-one peer support to clients. Our Hope's Place Volunteers facilitate our groups for grieving children. All bereavement volunteers are trained in group facilitation and issues around grief and loss.
Resale Shop Volunteers keep our store running! Working in teams of two or three, they welcome customers, organize and price donations, and run the register. They're an essential team to keep our services running!
Other Opportunities are also available! We are looking for volunteers who can tend our perennial garden, help us in the office, or be part of our fundraising and special events teams. To join us or to learn more about any of our volunteer opportunities, please call (207) 873-3615 or email hospiceinfo@hvwa.org.
